Rancho San Leandro
Nestled in the luxurious town of Montecito, California, is a property known as Rancho San Leandro. From the cobblestone courtyard to the sweeping mountain views, this four-bedroom and four-and-a-half bathroom estate is simply spectacular. Beyond the main house, the property also has a guest house, horse barn and library. Dirt reports that after buying Rancho San Leandro for $7.195 million, Ellen and Portia sold it eight months later for $11 million.

European-inspired Mansion
Originally built in 1930 , this 2,696-square-foot home in Montecito was given an Ellen-certified makeover. The earthy interior is defined by arched doorways, vaulted ceilings and exposed wooden beams. The principal bedroom has walk-out access to a sun porch, allowing the owners to take full advantage of the California weather. Outside, the yard has pebblestone walkways, mature greenery and an in-ground pool.

Located at Butterfly Beach in Montecito is a bungalow that Ellen bought for $2.9 million. This modestly sized home (at least by celebrity standards) comes with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and almost 1,700-square-feet of living space. Since being built in 1954, the property has been given plenty of modern updates. It has white walls and an abundance of windows and glass doors for an indoor-outdoor feel.

Although Montecito is one of Ellen’s favorite California enclaves, she often buys houses in other areas too. This one is a mid-century modern property located in a ritzy gated community in Beverly Hills. The five-bedroom, six-bathroom home was purchased for $8.5 million . It spans 4,600-square-feet across one level and is surrounded by mature greenery outside. You’ll find lots of contemporary wood finishes and full-height windows throughout.

Santa Barbara Ranch
Sitting on 10.5 acres of land with views of the Pacific is this tastefully decorated ranch. The interior blends farmhouse-style with modern design. The elegant kitchen is designed with black walls and marble countertops, which contrasts with the rest of the bright interior. A screened-in porch embraces the California weather and showcases views of the scenic property. When she was done renovating this home, Ellen sold it for nearly $7 million .

Porter House
Tucked into the posh neighborhood of Montecito is a Tudor-style house that Ellen bought for roughly $3.6 million in 2020. According to Dirt , this historical property was constructed in England in the 18th century. It was originally two separate barns, which were dismantled and shipped to California to become the stunning residence we see today. Ellen gave it some renovations that turned out to be fit for a pop star, as Ariana Grande moved in after purchasing it for $6.75 million.

English Tudor Mansion
Located in Beverly Hills is a 10,376-square-foot mansion that was built in 1933. The interior features sleek and sophisticated finishes, including a black and white color palette, coffered ceilings and wall panelling. It also comes with a screening room, swimming pool and tennis court. Ellen and Portia renovated the home after purchasing the property from musician Adam Levine and model Behati Prinsloo. The couple eventually put it back on the market in 2021 for a whopping $53.5 million .

Montecito Mansion
Designed with indoor-outdoor living in mind, this lavish home fits the bill for modern, celebrity style. The $13.5 million mansion was built in 2018 with three bedrooms, four bathrooms and 4,780-square-feet of living space. The principal suite comes with a marble-clad ensuite bathroom, as well as a second shower outside.

There’s no need for an international vacation if you’re the owner of this $33.3 million Montecito estate. Skouras Residence
This 8,055-square-foot property is located in the posh Trousdale Estates neighorhood. It’s known as the Skouras residence and was built in 1956 by celebrity architect Hal Leavitt. Ellen lived here from 2012 to 2014 and eventually listed it for $33.7 million . Some noteworthy features include the stainless-steel kitchen, high ceilings and light-filled living spaces. The covered courtyard also provides the perfect spot for al fresco dining.

Oceanfront Beach House
It wouldn’t be a true California real estate portfolio without at least one beachfront property on the list! In 2019, Ellen and Portia sold this coastal cool home for $23 million. It comes with four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms and almost 80 feet of beachfront along the ocean. White walls, light hardwood flooring and full-height windows give it major Cali beach vibes.

Villa Tragara
One of the more extravagant homes that Ellen calls home is Villa Tragara, a property inspired by the Alhambra Palace in Grenada, Spain. Wall-to-wall windows border the main living space to provide unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean. The interior offers just under 12,000-square-feet of living space. There is no shortage of outdoor amenities, which include a koi pond, pickle ball court and tennis court.

The Villa
Designed by architect Wallace Frost, this Villa is one you might recognize from Ellen’s 2015 book Home . This luxury property is reminiscent of something you’d find in Tuscany with its exposed stone walls, ceiling beams and serene outdoor spaces. Ellen and Portia bought two adjacent properties and turned it into a 16.88-acre estate. According to Dirt , they ended up selling this home to Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos for $34 million.

Hollywood Hills Home
Ellen has actually been the owner of this Hollywood Hills property twice, according to Dirt . She first purchased it in 2005, sold it in 2007, and bought the property again in 2014 for $8.75 million. The 3,994-square-foot home comes with five bedrooms and three bathrooms. The backyard is made for entertaining thanks to the in-ground firepit and swimming pool.

The Brody House
Ellen paid nearly $40 million in 2014 to purchase the Brody House, situated in the Holmby Hills neighborhood. Architect A. Quincy Jones constructed the home in 1949, while designer Billy Haines handled the interior design. Spanning 13,511-square-feet, the property has six bedrooms and nine-and-a-half bathrooms. Some celebrity-worthy amenities include the gym, pool, tennis court and spa.
