Inside Olivia Wilde’s New Hilltop Ranch House
The Don’t Worry Darling director paid nearly $6 million USD for her new house, a hilltop estate in Studio City. The 1940s-era ranch house was recently upgraded to accommodate four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. Silver Lake-based architect Barbara Bestor was hired to to oversee the complete redesign of the house, a project that took the entire structure down to the studs and rebuilt the formerly cramped place as a “bright and airy contemporary ranch,” according to Dirt.com.

The ranch is set high above the street and hidden from public view behind a long driveway and big gates. Guests are greeted by lush landscaping filled with green shrubs and mature trees as they proceed down a long winding driveway that leads to the front door.
An open floor plan contains a kitchen with custom cabinets, a dining area, and a living room that spills out onto a large covered patio with an outdoor kitchen.
The kitchen is outfitted with soapstone countertops and high-end Gaggenau appliances.
Many of the home’s bespoke cabinets and consoles were custom-designed by Barbara Bestor, who incorporated intricate Douglas fir detailing into many pieces.
The principal bedroom features glassy Fleetwood pocket doors that slide away, blurring the line between indoor and outdoor living.
An covered outdoor kitchen and al fresco dining zone is ideal for entertaining.
The back of the home shows off the open-concept floor plan. The grounds are simple with a large, grassy lawn.
The swimming pool and spa area offer serene views of the San Fernando Valley basin.
The outdoor fireplace and lush gardens are designed by noted landscape architect Judy Kameon. A low, wraparound wall is incorporated into a stucco fireplace.
A stone deck offers lots of space for throwing a huge cast party.
