After selling her Los Feliz home (famously photographed for AD ) for a big profit to investigative journalist Ronan Farrow, High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens is returning to her roots. She’s purchased a modern home in Studio City hills, practically next door to the very first house she ever bought — so close it even shares a property line with her former haunt.

Originally built in 1963, the house was completely rebuilt earlier this year in a trendy modern farmhouse style that boasts a clapboard exterior and a sea of milky white rooms inside. Located on a tiny and secluded cul-de-sac, a flat motorcourt has space for six or more cars.
According to Dirt.com , Vanessa’s new $7.5 million house includes five bedrooms and five bathrooms in more than 7,000-square-feet of living space. There are also balconies, vast patios, an infinity pool and unobstructed views that sweep over a huge swath of the San Fernando Valley. Multiple skylights and foldaway glass doors flood all the rooms with natural light.
On the main level, an open floor plan blends the communal spaces together. Both the living and family rooms spill out to patios and grassy terraces, and outside there’s a barbecue area and ample space for al fresco entertaining. A dining area off the kitchen is airy and contemporary, with a bay window that offers a great view with breakfast.
The classic white kitchen has plenty of room for cooking and entertaining, and features a generous waterfall island and Miele appliances. Black windows act as picture frames for views of the pool with tanning ledge outside.
The stairs to the lower level have a clean glass rail and are lit with inset LED strips, for a star-worthy ascent.
The focal point of the lower level is a dramatic fractured wood wall. Pale white oak floors and white walls are warmed up by mid-tone wood ceiling beams and a wall of built-in shelves.
Upstairs, a loft-like second family room is set on the landing. The central hallway connects various bedrooms.
The primary suite is large, with treetop views of L.A. stretching out to the horizon, glimpsed through the walls of glass. A sitting area is tucked into an alcove.
Bespoke cabinetry in warm wood lines the custom dressing room, with shoe and bag storage behind glass doors.
