Ask A Designer: How To Give Your Living Room A Warm, Polished Look

Candace: You have a great base to start with, but the room is unfinished.

Candace: Let’s start by making the wall behind your sectional a feature wall, with a collection of prints or mixed art.
Candace: You can install picture ledges, as seen in the above inspiration shot, or simply hang your pieces gallery-style.
Candace: Next, add a comfy armchair to the grouping, like the one I’ve selected with an exposed wood frame, to introduce another material.
Candace: If you’re considering replacing your coffee table, a wood or glass table would be a great option.
Candace: The ladder shelf tucked in the corner is out of scale and should be moved to another room. This is a good spot for a floor lamp.
Candace: Balance the space with a tall plant on the right side of the sectional.
Candace:Bring in some graphic throw pillows!
Candace: Switch up your pillows with different colors and patterns.
Candace: Add textured throw and style a collection of accessories and books on your coffee table. Good luck!
